    What is an Associates Degree?

An associates degree is an undergraduate degree that commonly accounts for two years’ worth of college. Most associate’s degrees are issued through community colleges although Universities can offer them as well.
Several classifications of associates degrees are available. The most basic examples are: the Associate of Arts Degree, Associate of Applied Science Degree, Associate of Science Degree, and Occupational Degree.
Many of the degrees offered are in high demand with today’s employers.  The most common are in the fields of medical assistant, paralegal, computer-related fields, data processing, and various forms of public service. These degrees are ideal for people who would like to better their lives by getting certification in a short amount of time.  If time constraints are still an issue you can make it easier on you and your family by taking classes online.
An associate’s degree is a good first step to take on your road of education.  Upon completion of your degree you will be confident of your direction. Whether you decide to venture into an exciting career field or move on to earn a bachelor’s degree you’ll have a solid background with which to do it.
